MCPS CheckAccept™ is the electronic way to accept checks safely and with greater speed and security than paper checks. Checks approved by MCPS are converted to electronic transactions that transfer the funds from the customer's checking account to the retailer's account within 48 hours similar to credit card transactions. The customer simply signs a receipt for the transaction and the check is handed back to the customer.

As with the MCPS CheckSafe™ program, all approved funds are guaranteed by transferring the risk to MCPS. There are no checks to deposit and no return item fees for checks that bounce. That means that when you accept a check with MCPS CheckAccept™, you can count on the funds being there.
